In recent years, the problem which occurs for Urmia Lake has been attract a variety of attentions not only experts of region and world but also NGOs, politicians and public , actually this conflict comes to an international issue rather than a local or national one.

In this regard an agreement has been defined by financial support of Japan government, UNDP and Environment Department of Iran to following the sustainable agriculture in Urmia Watershed so that the lake can be protected.

According to Abangah experiences on capacity building and local societies’ participation in challenges like what have occurred in Urmia lake, this group is invited to cooperate with this plan. Abangah’s proposal has been accepted and the project will be started in few weeks till to 2014 December.

On Saturday, 28th June, a consultative meeting by attending the stakeholders and the watershed managers hold on Urmai city. Mr Samiee, CEO of Abangah attended in this meeting and discussed about the capacity building framework and public awareness towards the goal of sustainable agriculture in the watershed.
