The Asiatic cheetah, also known as the Iranian cheetah, is a Critically Endangered cheetah subspecies surviving today only in Iran. It used to occur in India as well, where it is locally extinct.

For safeguard of the remained cheetah population in Iran, the Conservation of the Asian cheetah project (CACP) as a partnership between Iranian Department of Environment (DOE) and United Nation Development Program (UNDP) is defined which successfully attempt for Cheetah sustainable conservation at 10 wildlife refuge at Iran.

As the Socio-Cultural Capacity Building of local societies is a key for this reason, Abangah is cooperating with project office through a plan at ” Miandasht Wildlife Refuge ” aim to establish a sustainable social framework via actor analyzing method .

Below, some photos of done field visit at Miandasht wildlife refuge by Abangah are visible. The first phase of this project will be continued by 2015 March.
